On Saturday, April 29, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, visited the South Sumatra Light Rail Transit (LRT) as part of the Eid 2023 transportation monitoring. Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi was accompanied by the Director General of Railways, Mr. M. Risal Wasal, and the Head of the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center, Mr. Rode Paulus.

The purpose of Minister Budi Karya Sumadi's visit was to ensure the readiness of South Sumatra LRT in facing this year's Eid homecoming flow. He emphasized that the South Sumatra LRT is a crucial alternative transportation option in reducing congestion and ensuring the comfort of travelers.

During the visit, Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and his entourage had the opportunity to directly review the South Sumatra LRT stations and check the condition of existing facilities and infrastructure. They also interacted with South Sumatra LRT passengers to find out the quality of service provided.

Minister Budi Karya Sumadi emphasized that the government will provide ongoing support for the development of mass transportation, including the South Sumatra LRT, in order to enhance community mobility and promote regional economic growth. The visit to the South Sumatra LRT by the Minister of Transportation is expected to motivate both the management and the community to continuously improve the quality of service and utilize mass transportation as an eco-friendly and efficient transportation alternative.
