AS TO THE CONGESTION OF EID RETURN FLOW, DJKA INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO USE MOTIS ON THE LAST DAY OF REGISTRATION

(Jakarta 9/5) - The Free Motorcycle Program (MOTIS) is again held by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) and collaboratively organized by KAI Logistics (KAI Group) as an effort to accommodate the high enthusiasm of the community in celebrating the annual tradition of Lebaran homecoming. In addition, MOTIS is also held as an anticipatory step in reducing the accident rate of two-wheeled vehicles prone to accidents during Eid's homecoming and return flow period. MOTIS’s registration has been opened since April 20, 2022, and is still open for registration today, May 9, 2022. The total number of registrants for the Motis program has reached 4,188 motorcycles.

"People who have already used motorbikes, please re-register on this program. Registration is still open until today, May 9, 2022, at 16.00 as the last motorbike delivery, while motorbike deliveries will be adjusted to the train schedule," said Zulfikri on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Solo Station while monitoring the return flow of Eid.

Based on data collected from the field as of May 8, 2022, the number of registrants for MOTIS with Train mode is 3,619 motorbikes, Bus tickets are 526 motorbikes, and 43 motorbikes use travel tickets. Meanwhile, the Southern Cross continues to dominate the public's choice, with registrants reaching 2,900 motorcycles, while the North Cross is 1,288.

The most scheduled departures for MOTIS during the Lebaran return period are  on May 8, 2022, which transports nearly 600 motorbikes a day from Kutoarjo Station to Jakarta Gudang Station.

The Director General of Railways, Zulfikri, previously said that the 2022 MOTIS quota had been prepared with as many as 9,240 motorcycles allocated to support and anticipate the surge in the volume of homecomers during the Lebaran 2022 transportation period. This was motivated by research results from the Research and Development Agency (Balitbang), Ministry of Transportation RI, which has predicted the potential movement of homecomers during the Eid period this year, will reach 85 million people, with the potential for an increase in the number of travelers using the train mode as much as 7.6 million or an increase of 11% from the number of travelers from trains in the previous homecoming period.
