Soon, Jabodetabek KRL's new GAPEKA will go into action.

Jakarta (31/05) -
On Saturday, 1 June 2023, the Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways will put the new Railway Travel Chart (GAPEKA) into effect. This new route chart will be implemented gradually, especially for Jabodetabek electric rail trains (KRL). Director General of Railways Risal Wasal delivered this message on Saturday, May 27, in Jakarta.

For information, the railway Travel Chart (GAPEKA) is a rule for controlling the execution of railway travel. It includes lines that display stations, time, distance, speed, and location of train travel beginning with departure, halting, coming, crossing, and joining. All of this data is graphically represented in GAPEKA for railway travel control.

The GAPEKA that initially existed in 2021 is still in effect. Based on the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number KP-DJKA 67, 68, 69, and 70/2023, a new GAPEKA will go into effect starting June 1, 2023.

Following the finalization of many infrastructure construction and enhancement projects by DJKA, this GAPEKA modification was made. Some of the completed works include the Double-Double Track Cakung - Bekasi, Double Track North Java and several sections of Double Track South Java, the addition of a new railway line (Kedundang - YIA Airport), the addition of intermediate blocks on the road between Muara enim - Prabumulih X6, the construction of the BH 1120 bridge on the Bumiayu-Linggapura road, and the upgrade of Manggarai Station.

"Alhamdulillah, some of the projects we have completed allow an increase in speed limits on certain road sections and an increase in the frequency of train trips by operators," Risal explained.

Risal said specifically for Jabodetabek KRL that the implementation of GAPEKA 2023 on this service would be done in stages to allow service users to adjust to the new schedule, and that an evaluation will be done in this respect. "As a result, beginning June 1, 2023, KRL Jabodetabek will not use GAPEKA 2023 immediately; instead, we will gradually adjust it to avoid passenger confusion," Risal explained.

Related to this, Risal appealed to the public to monitor information media and applications owned by KAI Commuter as the Jabodetabek KRL operator regularly. Risal hopes that through periodic enforcement, it can avoid the accumulation of passengers as happened during Switch Over 5.

Furthermore, Risal said that the GAPEKA adjustment will continue to be evaluated by paying attention to obstacles that may arise in the implementation of train services. "We are very open to public input regarding the implementation of the new GAPEKA, and hope for public participation in helping us socialize these changes so that they reach other users of train transportation services," said Risal.

*KRL Jabodetabek Adjustment*

In the implementation of Gapeka 2023 starting June 1, 2023, KAI Commuter will operate Commuter Line trips in the Jabodetabek area as many as 1,133 trips with 98 series. The trips consist of 420 Bogor Commuter Line trips, 282 Cikarang Commuter Line trips, 221 Rangkasbitung Commuter Line trips, 124 Tangerang Commuter Line trips, and 86 Tanjungpriok Commuter Line trips.

"In the implementation of Gapeka 2023, adjustments were also made to the Jabodetabek Commuter Line travel pattern in several cross-services." KAI Commuter VP Corporate Secretary Anne Purba said.

In the adjustment of the Bogor Commuter Line trip, the frequency of trips in the morning peak hours starting at 04.00 - 08.00 WIB will be added by 2 trips to 50 trips with a headway of 5 minutes. While for trips on the Jakarta Kota - Nambo / Bogor crossing in the afternoon peak hours starting at 15.00 - 20.00 WIB will be added 1 trip to 52 trips with an average headway of 5 minutes.

To accommodate passengers who travel from Manggarai Station to Sudirman / Tanah Abang / Duri during the morning rush hour, KAI Commuter increases the number of trips on the Manggarai - Kampung Bandan crossing from 33 to 13. Meanwhile, KAI Commuter increases 17 trips to 40 trips on the Kampung Bandan - Manggarai crossing to service passengers who transit at Manggarai Station from the direction of Duri / Tanah Abang / Sudirman during the afternoon rush hour.

Meanwhile, the Commuter Line Cikarang trip adjustment was carried out by increasing the travel speed from the original 70 km per hour to 95 km per hour with an average headway of 9 minutes from the previous 12 minutes. In addition, KAI Commuter will also extend 6 feeder trips from Cikarang-Bekasi pp relation to Cikarang-Manggarai-Kampung Bandan relation and connectivity arrangements between Commuter Line Cikarang and Commuter Line Jatiluhur and Commuter Line Walahar.

While alterations to the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line were made by lowering the average headway on the Rangkasbitung-Parungpanjang crossing from 19 minutes to 15 minutes and lowering the headway on the Parungpanjang-Serpong crossing from 13 minutes to 12 minutes. By adding 16 feeder trips from the Rangkasbitung-Parungpanjang-PP connection to the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang-PP relation, KAI Commuter will further optimize the travel relation.

KAI Commuter has integrated the arrival and departure schedules for Commuter Line Rangkasbitung and Commuter Line Merak at Rangkasbitung Station as an integration station.

Especially in the Tangerang area, there are Commuter Line Tangerang and Soetta Airport Commuter Line travel services. The adjustment of the Tangerang Commuter Line trip was carried out by increasing the travel speed from 65 km per hour to 70 km per hour, and reducing the headway to 18 minutes which was previously 20 minutes.

While the Airport Commuter Line travel service, starting June 1, 2023, KAI Commuter will operate as many as 56 trips per day which were previously 40 trips. Commuter Line Basoetta users can also continue their journey using the Jabodetabek Commuter Line at Batu Ceper Station, Duri Station or BNI City Station.

It is intended that by include the Basoetta Commuter Line travel schedule, it would provide residents of Tangerang another option for getting to Sudirman and Manggarai's business districts or vice versa.

The Tanjungpriok Commuter Line was also modified under Gapeka 2023 by lowering the average headway from 20 minutes to 18 minutes.

"KAI Commuter urges users to adjust and pay attention to their trip's departure schedule time beginning June 1, 2023." Always obey the guidelines and information given by station personnel." Anne came to a conclusion. (HJA/DA/NN)
