WORK VISIT OF THE MEMBERS OF COMMISSION V OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA TO THE LOCATION OF RAILWAYS ENGINEERING OFFICE NORTH SUMATRA REGION DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
MEDAN (21/4) – In order to improve connectivity in the railway sector, the North Sumatra Region Class II Railways Engineering Office as a representative of the Directorate General of Railways carried out several development activities that support the realization of ease of transportation in the railway sector in the North Sumatra working area.
For the 2021 Fiscal Year, North Sumatra Railways Engineering Office has carried out several development plans, including the construction of the Lhokseumawe-Bireun railway line, which is a continuation of the construction of the 8 km Krueng Geukeuh - Paloh segment, and the construction of the Trans Sumatra Besitang - Langsa railway line for the Sei Liput-Besitang segment. (35 km'sp), utility works and improvements to the Bandar Tinggi - Kuala Tanjung crossing, as well as the improvement of the Railroad between Araskabu - Tebing Tinggi - Siantar (105 km'sp).
For the North Sumatra Railways Engineering Office Activity Plan for the 2022-2024 Fiscal Year with a proposed funding ceiling of Rp2.1 Trillion, it will be used for several development activities, namely the improvement of the Medan - Belawan railway line (Medan - Labuan Segment), the construction of the Medan - Binjai Flyover Line, and improvement of the Kisaran – Rantauprapat Phase I (Kisaran – Mambang Muda) railway line.
In addition to the development plan, it is also explained about the Padat Karya program in the context of community empowerment during the covid-19 pandemic with a total workforce of 114,562 people per day (OH) in 2021. "Meanwhile, specifically for Lubuk Pakam Station, the Community Empowerment Program has also been programmed through the Work-intensive with an absorption target of 1230 people per day (OH)," said Head of the Class II Railway Engineering Center for Northern Sumatra Region Dandun Prakosa while accompanying Member of Commission V DPR RI Bob Andika Mamana Sitepu on a visit to the location of the railway improvement work between Araskabu - Siantar and Lubuk Pakam Station.
Meanwhile, Director of Railways Safety, Dedi Cahyadi, requested support, advice and input from Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Bob Andika Mamana Sitepu, for the rail transportation development program in the North Sumatra region which is one part of National connectivity so that it can be carried out properly in order to improve transportation services. to society.
