Intensified Vaccination Program at Transportation Nodes, Minister of Transportation and Coordinating Minister of Human and Cultural Affairs Review Vaccination Implementation at Jakarta City Station

Jakarta- The Government and related stakeholders continue to intensify vaccination activities at transportation nodes. Today, Thursday (29/7) the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy together with the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi reviewed the vaccination program at the Jakarta Kota Station.

This vaccination program was implemented by PT KCI in collaboration with the local Health Office and Community Health Center. A total of 900 first doses of vaccine were prepared, which were carried out at four KRL stations, namely Jakarta Kota Station, Rangkasbitung Station, Duri Station, and Angke Station.

The Minister of Transportation appreciated PT KCI for holding vaccinations at four stations in the Greater Jakarta area. The Minister of Transportation hopes that this activity can improve the immunity or herd immunity against the Covid-19 virus.

"I suggest this activity can be intensified in other areas such as in Central Java and other areas," said the Minister of Transportation.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy also appreciated and supported the vaccination activities carried out by PT KCI and PT KAI at a number of transportation nodes such as at stations.

“The choice of vaccination site at this station is very appropriate. The main target is railway passengers who use railways for their daily routine, especially for work. By getting vaccinated, they are safe, also can make the environment safe for others who do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated yet," explained the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture hopes that all people can get the vaccine to get communal immunity or herd immunity.

"Because it has been proven that those who have received the vaccine have a relatively better immunity level than those who have not been vaccinated. We hope that Covid-19 will pass soon, one of which is with this vaccine," he said.

For information, this vaccine program was carried out by PT KAI with its subsidiary PT KCI in collaboration with local health centers as well as the TNI and Polri. Up to now, there are four stations that organize it, namely Jakarta Kota Station, Rangkasbitung Station, Duri Station, and Angke Station and have prepared 900 doses of the first vaccine.

Vaccination activities at the four KRL stations started last Sunday (25/7). Every day, about 200 to 300 doses of the first vaccine are given to passengers and the people around the station. For people who want to take part in the vaccine at the four stations, they can register through the website provided by PT KCI, namely at https://vaksinasi.krl.co.id/daftar.

Also attending to accompany the activity were Director-General of Railways Zulfikri, President Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo, Deputy for Health at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Agus Suprapto. (LKW/RDL/LA/JD)
