MAXIMIZE COOPERATION WITH BUSINESSES TO ACHIEVE 28 MILLION RUPIAH REVENUE

In 2023, the revenue of the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (BPKARSS) will be Rp 24 billion. This is increased compared to Rp 21 billion earned last year. Several indicators of the success of the increase were due to tenant income, cooperation with business actors, and asset utilization.

BPKARSS is targeting a turnover of Rp 28 billion in 2024, BPKARSS head Rode Paulus said. "This is a challenge for all of us. We must continue to improve in the future. Especially in service innovation and non-core business optimization," Rode said.

There are several items in the non-core optimization. For example, the introduction of rates for renting office space, co-working space, name branding, and use of parapets. "Because we are a public service agency, we are allowed to manage assets," he said.

On the other hand, BPKARSS also entered into cooperation agreements with several companies for advertising in the parapet area. "This cooperation can be done with a working agreement between the parties. It can also be done with a profit-sharing model. We are opening up the widest possible opportunity," he said.

Meanwhile, tenants and MSMEs are also a priority for future development. The method used is a rental system. The community can submit an offer to the manager, and if approved, they can rent a booth at the desired destination station.

The rental rates vary and range from Rp 750,000 to Rp 2.75.,000. "The average number of passengers per day at each station determines this price range. The higher the number of passengers, the higher the rental price," added BPKARSS Business Development Unit Head M Dian Purwanto.

According to the latest data, there are 13 tenants. 11 partners have cooperated with the South Sumatra LRT. They have opened shops at stations such as DJKA, Polresta, Ampera, Cinde, Bumi Sriwijaya and Asrama Haji. "The highest rent is at Asrama Haji, considering that the number of passengers has reached more than 1200 people per day," he added.

He hopes that the more companies involved, the more interest the public will have in using the South Sumatra LRT. The ultimate goal is for the revenue to flow back to the community at large.
