IMPROVING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING, DJKA AND KCI HELD JOINT SOCIALIZATION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF KRL STATIONS BUILT BY THE GOVERNMENT

Jakarta (07/10) - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) together with PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia held a Socialization of Railway Infrastructure Development by inviting Social Media activists such as Bloggers, KRL User Community, and photo journalists to take KRL from Cikarang to Manggarai Stations on Thursday 7 October 2021 .

In the introduction to the light discussion after the tour, the head of Public Relations of DJKA Supandi said that in addition to providing experience to participants who were mostly social media activists, this activity was also to provide an understanding of the duties of the DJKA function and PT. KAI.

"Earlier we have experienced it ourselves and seen firsthand the beautiful and magnificent station buildings along the Manggarai Cikarang crossing, please convey that to the public," said Supandi. Furthermore, it is said that the Government through DJKA is currently developing railway infrastructure in the Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi regions, the aim of which is none other than to improve rail transportation services to the public, including the DDT project from Manggarai to Cikarang.

Supandi also said that this kind of outreach activity was very useful and effective in conveying information to the public. "I appreciate this activity, the collaboration between DJKA and KCI to convey information to the public about the progress of DDT development is very useful".

Meanwhile in his presentation, the Head of the Jakarta Banten Regional Railway Engineering Center, Rode Paulus, expressed his appreciation to all parties who were actively involved in realizing the construction of the west side of the Manggarai Station. "The magnificent building that you are currently witnessing, would not have been possible without the hard work of the DDT Satker friends who worked hard with limited window time," said Rode.

The window time referred to by Rode is the pause time when the train or KRL is not operating. By utilizing window time, construction can continue without disrupting train operations. "Often, friends in the field have to carry out construction and carry out the switch over process in the middle of the night until the early hours of the morning so that the next day KRL and long-distance train services can still operate without obstacles," Rode continued.

On this occasion, Rode also emphasized DJKA's commitment to continue to complete the construction of stations along the DDT line, including Tambun Station, which has not yet resumed. "Next year we will complete Tambun Station, in line with the completion of the construction of other stations. Please pray for the process of working on these projects to run smoothly," he added.

Rode explained, if the DDT project is fully completed, the waiting time between trains can be reduced to 3 minutes, compared to now which is around 7-10 minutes. This is because later the KRL and long-distance train lines will be separated so that they do not interfere with each other's services. The speed of train travel time will also be further supported by the construction of an underpass in Cibitung which reduces level crossings.

Appreciation for the construction of the west side of Manggarai Station and all stations in the DDT project was also conveyed by VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Anne Purba. "The attention given by DJKA through Mr. Rode's team to the development of stations in the Jakarta-Banten area really needs to be appreciated, and is much more than in previous years," According to Anne, improving Commuterline KRL services would be impossible without infrastructure development. by DJKA Ministry of Transportation.

Furthermore, Anne also explained the support of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia in developing Manggarai Station into a central station. In this case, his party continues to socialize to the public regarding changes in the flow of passenger service at this station. “Maybe there will be a lot of adjustments at the beginning, but if we don't change together, it will be difficult to realize a better and more comfortable KRL service. Through the construction of the concourse area by DJKA, passengers no longer need to pass through the railroad tracks that have the potential to endanger our safety together," continued Anne.

Rode also conveyed an invitation for support from the community for the development of Manggarai Station. "We open wide opportunities for the public and business entities who are interested in collaborating through the gas station scheme in the development of this Manggarai Station, especially for the connecting bridge to the Pasaraya Manggarai shopping center," he continued.

At the end of their presentation, both Supandi Rode and Anne invited the community to jointly maintain and maintain the station facilities that had been built by DJKA. This is also a form of appreciation from all parties to the Government who has built the infrastructure. (HJA/SPN)
