RAILWAYS TESTING OFFICE, FIRST WORKING UNIT OF DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF RAILWAYS, SUCCESSFUL TO ACHIEVE THE PREDICATE OF CORRUPTION-FREE AREA (WBK)
Jakarta (12/20) - At the end of 2021, one of the Technical Implementation Units at the Directorate General of Railways, namely the Railways Testing Office, succeeded in registering itself as the first work unit within the Directorate General of Railways to receive the title of Corruption Free Area (WBK) from the Ministry of Empowerment. Appreciation and awarding of the integrity zone towards the corruption-free Area (WBK) and the Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) 2021 were held in a hybrid (face-to-face and online) manner on Monday, December 20, 2021. The awarding ceremony was attended by officials within the Directorate General of Railways along with ranks. Secretary of the Directorate General of Railways, Zulmafendi, expressed his appreciation for the awards received and advised each work unit within the Directorate General of Railways to always maintain the spirit of bureaucratic reform and continuously improve its performance. "With this WBK title, we must be more motivated to provide quality and integrity services in the railway sector to answer the needs and expectations of the community. We must synergize, maintain commitment and maintain this achievement to provide excellent service to the community," he added.
The Head of the Railways Testing Office, Awang Mahendra revealed that the Railways Testing Office had made six changes to the Corruption Free Area (WBK). "We are developing the Integrity Zone through changes and mindset development, one of which is by forming an Integrity Zone Team, improving management, HR management in the form of preparing SOPs, education, and training of examiners, utilizing SAS applications, SAIBA, E-monitoring, strengthening accountability and strengthening supervision of LAKIP, SIMADU, online and offline anti-gratification campaigns, and improvement of service quality (Check sheet survey of railway HR testing services, ISO 9001:2015 certificate, service notice).
"Hopefully this achievement will become a new spirit for the Directorate General of Railways and a reminder for us together to always maintain integrity to avoid corruption," said Awang.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 64 of 2014, the Railways Testing Office is a work unit under the Directorate General of Railways which carries out the function of implementing the first and periodic testing of railway infrastructure (railway and railway buildings, railway operation facilities), railway facilities and implementation of competency testing of railway human resources. (railway facility crew, railway infrastructure operation officer, Infrastructure Examiner, Facility Examiner, Infrastructure Inspector, Facilities Inspector, and Railway Auditor). Thorough testing of the railway system is part of the activity to guarantee all aspects of activities related to train operations so that they are operationally feasible, prioritizing the safety of train travel for users of train services.
