Surabaya - Surabaya Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP) held a socialization and promotion of railway safety entitled BERTEMAN ( Berhenti, Tengokiri Kiri-Kanan, Aman, Jalan) at CFD Taman Bungkul on Sunday, September 24, 2023. The event, which was enlivened with gymnastics, K- Pop random dance and quizzes with prizes, was held in commemoration of the National Transportation Day (Harhubnas) 2023.

Head of BTP Class I Surabaya, Nurhadi Unggul Wibowo, said that he wanted to build a culture of safety at railroad crossings through this activity. This moment is also used to introduce the railroad safety tagline, namely BERTEMAN.

"With the BERTEMAN tagline, we hope that users of services or road users or the public because there are a lot of people who are enjoying this CFD, they get to know #BERTEMAN so that the government's target of zero crashes at level crossings can be achieved," said Nurhadi, Sunday, 24 September 2023.

Nurhadi also said, currently in the BTP Class I Surabaya work area there are still 740 crossings that are not equipped with doorstops. So according to him, the potential for accidents at level crossings is still very high.

"So we would like to remind the public, to stop first when crossing the level crossing, look left and right, and then walk safely," he said.

The Railway Safety socialization and promotion event was attended by all BTP Class I Surabaya staff. Also present were a number of members of the train lovers community in the East Java region, including Sahabat Kereta, Java Train, Sipuong, and IRPS Surabaya.
