Jakarta (17/7) - The Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation is grieving, one of the best employees who was also the Director of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways has passed away on Saturday (17/7) early morning.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un, the Ministry of Transportation has lost one of its best people. Director of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways Mr. Heru Wisnu Wibowo," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya.

Deep condolence was also expressed by the Director General of Railways, Zulfikri.

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Heru. I have not only lost a person who is hardworking, responsible, and integrity, but also humble, simple, and playful," said Zulfikri.

Zulfikri explained that the deceased has passed away on Saturday (17/7) last night at around 00.25 WIB at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. He was treated intensively for several days in the hospital due to lung disease.

"Let us pray that he left peacefully and the family is given fortitude and patience by Allah SWT," Zulfikri said.

Heru Wisnu Wibowo was born on July 10, 1965 in Nganjuk, East Java, and is a graduate of ITB Post Graduate Department of Highway Systems and Engineering after completing S1 Civil Engineering at ITS Surabaya. Before taking the position of Director of Railway Infrastructure, he had served as Director of Infrastructure of BPTJ, Head of Railway Engineering Center Class I of West Java Region, and Head of Railway Engineering And Building Of Region II.

During his time as Director of Railway Infrastructure, the Directorate of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways received a number of awards including, First Rank of Work Unit with Best Performance Reporting Compliance in 2020, First Rank of Best Absorption Category with Budget Ceiling above 1 Trillion, First Rank of Best Performance Achievement Category in Q1 of 2020, and First Rank of Best Performance Achievement Category in Q2 of 2020.

"This achievement is one proof that he is a hardworking, dedicated and qualified person. Let us continue his spirit of work to build Indonesia's railways," said the Ministry of Transportation to all employees in the Directorate General of Railways environment.

The late DIrector will be buried at TPU Jeruk Purut with previously held funeral prayers and final tributes by the Minister of Transportation and the High Office of the Ministry of Transportation on the page of the Ministry of Transportation Headquarters, which was attended virtually by employees in the Ministry of Transportation.

Zulfikri also advised the other officials to always maintain health, implement health protocols and follow the government's appeal for the good health of all employees and the public.
