DJKA Drives the Acceleration of Jabodebek LRT Facilities Maintenance Process

Jakarta (01/11) - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the maintenance of Jabodebek LRT facilities. This was conveyed by the Director General of Railways, Risal Wasal on Wednesday, 1 November 2023.

Risal will encourage and ensure that Jabodebek LRT train services continue to run by adjusting schedules, and accelerating maintenance of train facilities. As for the ongoing maintenance, Risal said that this was necessary to ensure the safety of Jabodebek LRT travel.

"Based on the findings of our inspectors in the field, erosion ('worn out') was found on certain sections of the track. We are currently inspecting the wheels and rail conditions to overcome this," Risal said.

Furthermore, Risal said that DJKA has directed operators, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain services and immediately follow up on existing findings. "With this maintenance, there are 8 trains that can be fully operated, we hope that the operator can maximize this entire series," said Risal.

During the maintenance process, Jabodebek LRT services will be adjusted to the headway (waiting time between trains) as follows.

Peak Hour

Harjamukti/Jatimulya - Cawang (pp): 30 minutes

Cawang - Dukuh Atas (pp): 15 minutes

Off-peak Hour

 Harjamukti/Jatimulya - Cawang (pp): 60 Minutes

Cawang - Dukuh Atas (pp): 30 minutes

Related to this, Risal said that the passengers of Jabodebek LRT can adjust their departure schedule. In addition, operators are expected to actively inform customers of schedule changes during maintenance.

"Don't let it confuse the public," Risal concluded. (DA/HJA/JM)
