SUPPORTING THE ENFORCEMENT OF PPKM LEVEL 1-4, THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION ISSUED CHANGES TO THE CIRCULAR LETTER OF PEOPLE'S TRAVEL BY RAILWAYS TRANSPORTATION
Jakarta (27/07) - In order to readjust to policy changes that occurred in line with the enactment of PPKM Level 4, the Ministry of Transportation issued Circular Letter No. 58 on Instructions for the Implementation of Domestic Travel with Railway Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This Circular Letter amendment also revokes the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation No. 54 of 2021 concerning the Second Amendment to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation No. 42 of 2021 on Instructions for the Implementation of Domestic Travel with Railway Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic. As is known, the circular letter was imposed to encounter the Eid al-Adha holiday of 1442 H ago.
In the newly issued Circular Letter, this time is to regulate the requirements of prospective intercity and urban rail passengers in accordance with the status of the region with PPKM category level 1 to 4. "Travelers traveling by intercity train to and from the area stipulated through the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs as an area with PPKM category Level 4 and PPKM Level 3 must show a vaccine card (at least first dose vaccination) and a certificate of RT-PCR test results whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before departure or negative results of rapid antigen tests whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours or at the station. before departure." This was conveyed by the Director of Traffic and Rail Transportation, Danto Restiawan in Jakarta.
Danto further asserted that passengers of intercity rail transportation to and from the area stipulated through the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs as a category of PPKM Level 1 and PPKM Level 2 must show a certificate of RT-PCR test results whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours or negative results of rapid antigen tests whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours before departure. Prospective passengers under the age of 12 are temporarily restricted. In addition, Danto explained that the requirement of showing a vaccine certificate is excluded for travelers with special medical circumstances who have not been vaccinated according to specialist doctor's statement.
"On the other hand, prospective passengers who will travel regularly on commuter lines and within agglomeration areas or regions, are not required to show vaccine certificates or negative results from RT-PCR tests or rapid antigen tests. However, commuter line passengers in the agglomeration area are required to show a Worker Registration Certificate or other Certificate issued by the Local Government, or a duty letter signed by the company leader or officials at least echelon 2 (for the government) and stamped / wet stamp or electronic signature".
