MANGGARAI STATION ELEVATED TRACK COMPLETED, BOGOR LINE READY TOMORROW ON THE SECOND FLOOR
Jakarta (24/09) - Construction of the Bogor Line elevated track at Manggarai Station has been completed and is ready to operate starting tomorrow. "According to the plan, tonight there will be a four-switch over, namely the transfer of the Bogor Line KRL line which was previously under (at grade), will be moved to lines 10, 11, 12, and 13 on the second floor," said the Head of the Regional Railway Engineering Center Jakarta and Banten, Rode Paulus Gagok.
The construction of the Bogor Elevated Line is part of the Manggarai Station Development within the framework of the Manggarai-Cikarang Dual Dual Line construction. After going through a series of tests followed by a switch over tonight, tomorrow this elevated track will be operated to serve passengers. When in operation, the Bogor Line elevated track can be accessed by escalators and lifts for the disabled as well as the manual stairs that have been built.
In addition, passengers who will use the KRL can access the platform through the West Gate of the station, to be precise in the direction of Pasaraya Manggarai. Various efforts to control and reorganize access have also been carried out well to reduce potential conflicts with residents around Manggarai. "Currently we are still making arrangements for access and parking, however, service users can already access the West Gate of this station, which has easier access to the Transjakarta bus stop," explained Rode.
With the operation of the Bogor Line, the crossing of passengers in the level crossing area can be reduced. Because, as the busiest station serving thousands of passengers, the potential for incidents at Manggarai Station is very high. Thus, by reducing the level of crossing, the potential for accidents can also be reduced.
In addition, the transfer of Bogor Line passengers to Tanah Abang is easier because they are in one building. Especially for Airport Train Passengers, with the operation of this flyover, it will be easier to change modes of transportation. "We want the construction and development of Manggarai Station and DDT, in general, to be able to further improve services to the public using train services," concluded Rode.
KAI Commuter Explanation
In line with the operation of the Bogor Line elevated track at Manggarai Station, the KAI Commuter will adjust the up and down service for KRL users at Manggarai Station starting Saturday, September 25, 2021. In this new service adjustment, the Lin Sentral (Bogor – Jakarta Kota) KRL trip PP) will be served on elevated lines on lines 10, 11, 12, and 13 on the 2nd floor of the new Manggarai Station building.
For up and down services for commuter line users, the Bogor/Depok – Jakarta Kota connection will be served on platform lines 10 or 11 on the 2nd floor of the new Manggarai Station building. Meanwhile, up and down services for commuter line users in the Jakarta Kota - Bogor/Depok Kota connection will be served on platform lines 12 or 13 on the 2nd floor of the new Manggarai Station building.
Commuter line users can also use the station entrance and exit from Dr. Saharjo 1 Street on the west side of Manggarai Station or which leads to the Manggarai Transjakarta Bus Stop. KAI Commuter will operate six electronic gates and set up counters for the purchase of Multi-Trip Cards (KMT) and Guaranteed Daily Tickets (GDT) (THB). A vending machine service for commuter line ticket transaction services will also be added.
For services up and down the Cikarang commuter line users, the Cikarang/Bekasi – Jakarta City PP and Lin Lingkar Bogor/Depok – Angke/Jatinegara KRL connections remain the same as currently applicable. Commuter line users who transit at Manggarai Station and want to use the Lin Sentral KRL can use the escalator, elevator, or stairs on platforms 6 and 7 on the ground floor of the new Manggarai Station building to get to platforms 10,11,12, and 13 on the 2nd floor.
"Currently, every working day the KAI Commuter operates 994 KRL trips every day. 616 KRL trips or about 62% of all KRL trips are served at Manggarai Station. The average volume of KRL users at Manggarai Station throughout September 2021 is 5,748 people, while the average daily volume of KRL users before the pandemic period was 20,942 people. This makes Manggrai Station one of the busiest KRL stations in the Jabodetabek area," explained KAI Commuter President Director Roppiq Lutzfi Azhar.
"KAI Commuter also urges KRL users to follow directions from officers in the field and always prioritize health and safety when transiting and when changing platforms. Always obey the health protocols that apply when using KRL," said Roppiq.
KAI Commuter also reminded users that the rules regarding limiting the number of users who can ride the KRL still apply. Officers will do insulation and queue at the station to prevent overcrowding in the KRL. To avoid potential queues, users can view density information at stations through the KRL Access application or use KRL outside peak hours.
