APPROACHING OF NATARU, PALEMBANG CLASS II RAILWAY ENGINEERING CENTER CONDUCT RAMPCHECK OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT FACILITIES FOR CHRISTMAS 2023 AND NEW YEAR 2024

Palembang (29/11), approaching Christmas and New Year 2024, the Palembang Class II Railway Engineering Center is carrying out Railway Facilities Feasibility and Operational Inspection activities (RAMPCHECK) from 29 November 2023 to 2 December 2024 in the Tanjungkarang Division III and IV Regions .
This activity is routinely carried out every time before Christmas to check the condition of operational readiness and suitability of railway facilities in preparation for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 to run smoothly without any problems.
RAMPCHECK activities are carried out by collecting maintenance and inspection data to determine the extent to which maintenance and inspection activities are carried out and direct inspections of railway facilities regarding maintenance of facilities and several inspection items based on the standard technical specifications of each facility and its safety standards.
The number of facilities inspected by BTP Palembang together with PT KAI Divre III Palembang was 6 locomotives and 37 loco-pulled trains. Meanwhile, for Tanjungkarang Division IV there were 3 locomotives and 26 loco-pulled trains.
In the Rampcheck which was carried out in the Palembang Division III and Tanjungkarang Division IV Regions, there were several findings or notes on the locomotive facilities, such as the identity of the facilities not being in accordance with PM No. 54 of 2016, the Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) is not equipped with a pressure indicator, the white lower motto light on the boper only lights up on the right side, and the locomotive has expired certification. Meanwhile, notes for Locomotive Pulled Trains are regarding the certificate which expires on November 24 2023 and regarding the condition of the cracked brake block.
Based on these notes, the Palembang Class II Railway Engineering Center together with PT KAI Divre III and IV Tanjungkarang moved quickly to follow up on all obstacles that occurred so that train operations could run in good condition.
