The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) paid a working visit to the South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center (South Sumatra LRT) on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 in the context of supporting the establishment of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) at South Sumatra LRT. The Director of Cybersecurity and ICT, Media and Transportation Password, Taufik Arianto, S.ST., M.Kom, and his staff attended the event, which was held in the Ampera Meeting Room. 

Eben Torsa Tongam, Head of Maintenance and Improvement Section of Facilities and Infrastructure at South Sumatra Light Railway Management Center, welcomed the BSSN group's arrival. In his speech, Taufik Arianto emphasized the importance of the formation of CSIRT in South Sumatra LRT as a step of anticipation and preparedness in facing the increasingly prevalent cyber threats.

"The establishment of CSIRT in South Sumatra LRT is a strategic step that needs to be taken to ensure that the operational and security systems of LRT are maintained from various cyber threats. With CSIRT, LRT Sumsel will be better prepared to identify, respond, and mitigate cyber attacks that may occur," said Taufik Arianto.

This visit is part of BSSN's efforts to strengthen cybersecurity in the transportation sector, especially in public facilities such as LRT, which play a vital role in the mobility of the community. In addition, this activity also aims to increase the awareness and technical capabilities of LRT managers in maintaining the security of their information systems.

During the activity, the BSSN and BPKARSS teams also conducted field visits to see first-hand the information technology used in the South Sumatra LRT. They visited the Operation Control Center (OCC), LRT depot, and LRT stations to learn more about the existing technology infrastructure and potential cybersecurity challenges.
