The real step taken is to carry out the Feasibility and Operational Readiness Check (rampcheck) of Railway Facilities (KA) for Lebaran Transportation in 2023 in the BTP Padang work area.

Rampcheck was carried out at several inspection points on 9-10 March 2023 as a form of synergy between the Directorate of Railway Facilities, Directorate General of Railways, BTP and operators.

For the Padang BTP work area, the rampcheck is centered in Padang City and Padang Pariaman Regency. "For two days we conducted a rampcheck of the feasibility of rail transportation in West Sumatra in accordance with Law No. 23/2007 on Railways to improve the safety of Lebaran 2023 transportation facilities," said Head of BTP Padang Supandi.

The inspection includes 13 units of locomotive type facilities, 16 units of trains pulled by locomotives, and Diesel Rail Trains (KRD) namely Minangkabau Ekspres, Lembah Anai, Eks Seminung as many as 3 train sets (TS) KRD.

BTP Padang conducts administrative data collection and direct inspection of railroad facilities on several inspection items, whether the facilities are in accordance with the minimum service standards (SPM) or not.

"The inspection is carried out periodically as evidenced by a test pass mark in the form of a sticker affixed to the body of the facility. So that passengers can see the feasibility of transportation that is ready to become a mode of Eid transportation later," he added.

The inspection includes safety equipment such as Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR), emergency brake, deadman device, and glass breaker mallet. In addition, checks are also carried out on brake blocks, stop blocks, watchwords, air conditioners, vents and emergency windows and temperature bearings.

"From this rampcheck, it was found that the fire extinguishers on Locomotives BB 303 84 11 and BB 303 84 12 were approaching the expiration date at the end of March this year as well as on KRD and Locomotive Pulled Trains. In addition, cracks were also found in the brake block on the Locomotive Pulled Train," Supandi explained.

Thus, Supandi asked the operators to maintain performance and complete safety equipment and perform maintenance on facilities that have been inspected.

"I expected that with this rampcheck, railroad facilities can be feasible and ready to operate for the Eid period in 2023. In addition, people can be more happy to travel by train, according to the slogan Homecoming Safely Impressive," he concluded.
