Previously, the extreme weather that occurred in the area, on Saturday (20/2) caused an increase in the water discharge of the Citarum and Cibeet rivers as well as a number of dams. This condition caused flooding in the area of ??the rail line between Lemah Abang - Kedung Gedeh and caused the foundation of the railroad track to be eroded by the swift current of flooding.

Meanwhile, to support the process of accelerating repairs to normalize the flood-impacted railway line across the Kedunggedeh - Lemah Abang Station, around 200 workers have been deployed for the recovery process. In addition, several heavy equipment belonging to PT KAI were also deployed to support the acceleration process of handling, which consisted of 2 units of Multi Tie Tamper (MTT), 2 units of Profile Ballast Regulator (PBR), 1 unit of TG/Rall Road Exavator and 1 unit of mini excavator. Meanwhile, the ballast material used in the repair is in the range of more than 1000 m3.

With continuous handling and good synergy, the Directorate General of Railways and PT. KAI can quickly overcome the condition of the rail line. However, improvements in the upstream route are also being carried out so that all of the dual lanes can operate. (spn)
