Lembah Anai Railbus Relocated from Balai Yasa to Kayutanam

Padang-Moments ago, the Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Class II Padang assisted in the transfer of the K3 2 11 01- K3 2 11 03 Railbus series or Lembah Anai Railbus from Balai Yasa Padang City to Kayutanam Station, Padang Pariaman Regency with PT KAI (Persero) Divre II West Sumatera. Previously, the Lembah Anai Railbus was in a maintenance period to add a generator set or generator used to produce electricity using a diesel engine since last November.

"To provide the best service for Lembah Anai Railway users, maintenance of facilities needs to be done if the facilities are not fit for operation," said Head of BTP Padang Endang Setiawan.

Currently, the Lembah Anai Railbus has yet to be able to operate again and is waiting for the first test to determine whether or not it is feasible to return to its route, namely the Kayutanam Station - Minangkabau International Airport Station (BIM)

"Due to the additional load (generator), it is necessary to conduct testing by applicable regulations, namely PM Transportation Number 49/2023 concerning Standards, Procedures for Testing and Certification of Normal Speed Train Feasibility with Self Drive," He added.

For the first test, the Anai Valley Railbus went through three stages, namely engineering tests, static tests and dynamic tests. Engineering tests include document evaluation and endurance tests. Static tests include dimensional tests, wheel weight difference ratio, braking, cracking, air circulation, temperature, electricity, noise, light intensity, communication equipment, leakage, exhaust emissions, loading, and horn.

As for the dynamic test, it includes, space limit means and length of pneumatic hoses and cables, braking, bearing temperature, ride quality (ride index), loading (tensile ability), acceleration, electricity and noise. (RAH)
