Welcoming Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 Holidays, DJKA Applied New Promo Fare on Jabodebek LRT

Jakarta (30/11) - The Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) is implementing a promotional tariff for the Jabodebek LRT ahead of the Christmas and New Year's holidays in 2023 and 2024. This promo tariff was issued through the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number: KP-DJKA 266 of 2023 concerning the Third Amendment to the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number: KP-DJKA 147 of 2023 concerning Promo Tariffs for People Transportation by Integrated Light Railways in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi Areas to Carry Out Public Service Obligations signed on Thursday, 30 November 2023.

Risal Wasal, Director General of Railways, explained that this promotional fare was offered to encourage people to use LRT Jabodebek when traveling during the year-end holiday season. "Community mobility is expected to be quite high during this holiday period, so we hope that LRT Jabodebek can be used optimally to reduce road congestion," said Risal.

The public can use the Jabodebek LRT with the following tariff scheme after the implementation of this new promo tariff.

This promo fare scheme will be enforced starting Friday, 1 December 2023. In addition to implementing the new promo tariff, Risal said that DJKA will also increase the Jabodebek LRT train operating to 16 trains from the previous 12 trains as of 1 December 2023 and will gradually be added until the entire train (27 trains) is fully operated.

"The addition of this series is intended to shorten the waiting time (headway) to 7-15 minutes as well as to anticipate the surge in passengers during this holiday season," Risal continued.

Risal hopes that with the implementation of the new tariff and the addition of the number of series, Jabodebek LRT can be used as a mainstay mode of transportation for the community while on vacation, as well as for carrying out daily activities. "We make sure Jabodebek LRT is ready to serve the community with excellence so that people can switch to using this mode of transportation," Risal concluded. (DA/HJA)
