Jakarta, 1 October 2023 - The Ministry of Transportation issued an Operating Permit for Public Railway Facilities for the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB) on Tuesday, 26 September 2023. This operating permit was issued through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number 114/2023 concerning Operating Permits for Public Railway Facilities of PT Kereta Api Cepat Indonesia-China.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that with the issuance of this operating permit, KCJB has met the operational feasibility aspects of fast trains. "Alhamdulillah, all components of testing and certification have been carried out so that this operation permit can be issued and the commercial operation of KCJB can be carried out immediately," Budi said on Sunday 1 October 2023 in Jakarta.

Budi further explained that the KCJB operation will be conducted in stages to continue to be evaluated up to the ultimate scenario of up to 68 train trips per day. TYhe Feeder Train from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station has also been prepared, to make it easier for passengers to reach Bandung City.

"This gradual operation is conducted to facilitate the operators to adjust and maximize their services," said the Minister. In addition, the Minister said that promo tariffs will be applied at the beginning of the KCJB operation to attract public interest.

Budi expressed hope that after the issuance of the operating permit, KCIC as the operator can prepare for commercial operations "Hopefully KCJB can be utilized by the general public and have a positive impact on the nation's economic growth," Budi concluded. (DA/HJA)
