Vaccination Phase 2 Completed, Director of Railways Infrastructure Urges to Keep Applying Health Protocol

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation held the second stage of the Covid-19 vaccination from Monday (29/03) to Wednesday (31/03). The second stage of vaccination is carried out at an interval of 2 weeks since the first stage of the vaccine on March 11-14. With this second stage of vaccination, it is hoped that the antibody system formed by the body can be more optimal.

The Covid-19 vaccination, which was carried out at the Head Office of the Ministry of Transportation, was attended by all employees of the Head Office of the Ministry of Transportation and UPT in the Greater Jakarta area. This vaccination is excluded for employees who are pregnant, survivors of Covid-19 for less than 3 months, suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart, kidney, cancer, high blood pressure, and allergies to certain drugs.

Similar to the first stage of the vaccine, in this second stage, participants had to go through several stages before vaccination, such as checking their identity, taking blood pressure, body temperature and oxygen levels. After that, participants also had to answer several questions from the vaccinator regarding the conditions and effects felt after the first stage of vaccination.

“My first vaccination didn't have any effect, but after the second vaccination, fifteen minutes after the vaccine, I felt a little dizzy. Dizziness for a while then the body also feels weak. However, this is reasonable because it also depends on the condition of the body," said Director of Railways Infrastructure Heru Wisnu Wibowo when met on the sidelines of preparations for the DJKA Talk.

Heru also added that he was still feeling the effects of the vaccination until the third day.
“When I came home from work, when I got home, I went straight to bed, usually never. Continued to feel weak and achy still a little felt until this third day”

The effect of the vaccination that Heru complained about was actually reasonable and the Ministry of Health had conveyed that this vaccination caused some mild side effects such as dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, and even hunger.

For this reason, there are several things that need to be watched out for after vaccination, among others, it is not recommended to do strenuous activities / sports after vaccination, maintain a proper diet and rest and if a fever appears after vaccination, it is allowed to take fever-reducing drugs.

Heru also urges the employees of the Directorate of Railways Infrastructure to also follow the second stage of vaccination and maintain health protocols after being vaccinated.

"I hope that after the second stage of the vaccine, friends will continue to carry out the Covid-19 health protocol, there is 3M, mother's message and all of that to keep it running. Don't let it be because we've been vaccinated for stages one and two and then forget about it. We still have to follow health protocols," he said.

The Ministry of Transportation also provides a contact person for medical officers who can be contacted on the vaccine card obtained by participants after vaccination. This is intended to make it easier for participants to consult if they experience clinical symptoms after vaccination.

Meanwhile, related to WFO and WFH policies within the Directorate of Railways Infrastructure, Heru explained that he would follow the applicable regulations.
"This is related to the status of each region, later we will see what the new rules are like, we will follow the existing rules," he concluded.
