Sports Culture to Improve Work Productivity
Padang - Lack of physical activity can reduce focus and concentration at work. For this reason, the Class II Railway Technical Centre (BTP) Padang has been promoting a sports culture to improve the productivity of its officers at work.
"We have sports activities at least once a week. It doesn't have to be intense—just a leisurely walk or group aerobics will do. The important thing is to be consistent so that it becomes a good habit," stated Hendrialdi, Head of BTP Padang.
He believes that "forcing" the body to move is one of the most important activities that can become a habit or culture. "Every Friday morning, we will exercise together with all employees. Whether there are officials present or not, the exercise must continue," he added.
Other benefits of exercise include improving physical stamina, relieving stress from work pressure, and improving concentration and energy levels by increasing blood circulation.
In addition, group activities help foster a sense of togetherness and strengthen relationships between colleagues, creating a more collaborative atmosphere.
"I hope that by exercising regularly every week, we can create an environment that supports the productivity and well-being of every employee," concluded Hendrialdi.
