Padang-The Class II Railway Technical Center (BTP) Padang held a handover ceremony for the position of Head of Traffic, Facilities and Safety Division from Mr. Taufik Erfin to Mr. Teguh Ilman Santoso at the Minangkabau International Airport on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.

The event was also attended by the Secretary of the Directorate General of Railways, Mrs Jujun Endah Wahjuningrum, and the Head of the Human Resources and General Affairs Division of the Directorate General of Railways, Mrs Indriati.

In government terms, a handover (serah terima jabatan) is the formal and official transfer of responsibility and authority to a new official. This process is important to ensure smooth administration and continuity in the performance of public service duties.

"This is necessary to ensure that the government can continue to function efficiently and to minimise the risk of uncertainty regarding duties both within and outside the office," said Hendrialdi, Head of BTP Padang, in his statement.

He added that as the new head of BTP Padang, Mr Teguh is expected to lead BTP Padang to even better performance, especially in the critical areas of traffic, facilities and railway safety, which are key priorities for BTP Padang at this time.

At the same event, the Directorate General of Railways (Sesditjen KA) also conducted a briefing and human resource development session to improve the quality of human resources within DJKA, Ministry of Transportation, Republic of Indonesia.

"Becoming a Civil Servant is easy—just comply with the existing rules, because the rules are already set. By doing so, you will become a good civil servant," said Mrs. Jujun in her remarks.

This statement aligns with the basic principles for employees as outlined in Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021, which includes prohibitions, obligations, and disciplinary penalties for civil servants. It stipulates that any failure by a civil servant to meet their obligations or to comply with the established rules will result in disciplinary action.
